Mental Health Awareness Week 2019

Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental health can be a bit taboo but its somthing that we all have and that we all need to look after.

I wonder if you took the challenge I set in the last post to work on self care? If so how has it been going, how do you feel about yourself? The world so often seems poised to steel our self esteem and leave us feeling empty and worthless. But we are each individually unique and that in itself is beautiful. Neither work nor social media should dictate our worth as we are each so precious to so many people. No one is truly alone.

Maybe you struggle with your mental health, if you dont I'm sure you'll know someone who does. It's so common yet we're still so fearful to open up and speak out. Sometimes just getting out of bed is a great victory and should be treated as such. Celebrate the both your own little victories and those of the people around you.

So keep up the self care and work your way towards self. If you didn't take up the challenge you still can, everyday is a good day to be grounded in your self worth and reflect on achievements past and present. Each small step in the right direction is a triumph. Opening a textbook for an exam, speaking out when you're struggling and getting any help you need are all brave and all victories.

Websites like Mind provide more great information about our mental health and how to look after it.
